Your online magazine is fantastic! Through you I have found many kindred spirits who value our western heritage and in particular our fiction, non-fiction, and motion picture connections with the western genre. Keep up the good work in promoting the filming of western epics by Hollywood. I think your efforts will pay off.

I can't wait to read Bonnie Anderson's monthly column. I am new to the "horse business" and her articles are so clear, concise and simple to follow that it makes it easy for a beginner to follow. This month for entertainment Jean Henry Mead's article was informative and gave me new insight as to that part of Americana. Love your online magazine.

Well, greetings. I found your site liked to "Specialist Factual", a BBC program. I like the variety of your topics. ...Most people will never understand the relationship of man and beast to the land and its utility, we simply live the life and enjoy our freedom under the sun and moon with the changes of the seasons.Legends and tall tales are part of our daily lives, we adapt the beasts to climate and function, see Aurochs or Diarmid Cattle. Even cowboys have to change with the times, adapt or parish.

Good stories and good magazine. You still have a little piece of the old times, the good times. I grew up at the very end of the old days, the 1930s, and I knew some of the Old Cowboy, who lived in and around Bozeman Mt. My maternal grandmother was part of one of the last families to come west in a covered wagon, from Iowa and settled in the Gallatin Valley country, and my paternal grandfather was one of the early sheep ranchers around the Virgina City Mt. area. So some of your stories are real close to my heart. Many thanks.

I discovered your site by accident but was pleasantly surprised to find print interviews with Tom Selleck. He is the only movie/TV star that I make a point of watching, regardless whether it is new or a rerun. Selleck spoke of a possible sequel to Quigley, which is a great movie, but I would like to see another Sackett movie with all of the Sackett brothers. There were several other books with storylines involving all of them.

your online site has been a big help for me...my pony had to be put down and i had her since i was eight! i am now fourteen, but any way my maw maw and i were going to get her a mate, because my other horse had died, so we found a horse for sale a saddlebred and we thought that Lighting would like not to be lonely any more, so i was taken to see the saddlebred. he was beautiful! only bad thing was he wasn't neck reined! so i looked for sites on the web before i got to yours and i was so mad because i couldn't find what i wanted. A few years ago, there was an article in the literary supplelement of the Daily Telegraph, a leading English newspaper, commenting on the launch of the LOUIS L'AMOUR WESTERN MAGAZINE. The article reflected that the classic formula of the pulps might be dead, but had been replaced by 'real' literature by modern authors. As a life-long European Western fanatic, brought up with the works of Karl May (search him out! He is in print in the USA for the first time ever) I managed to get a subscription from DoubleDay Bell for their magazine, only to see it disappear again a few years later because of limited interest. Why, oh why? After years in the desert, I finally found recluse on your website. Please keep going forever. We need you.

Your Web Site offers a central Clearing House for all the "GOOD STUFF" (Western related goods and services). It's unique and innovative to have movies, actors, books, and writers all in the same location. Like my grandfather used to say; "The Old West just gets better with every story that's told".

Great website, One note to the general public, and to beginning collectors. Please try to do the research on the spurs, bits, and the other cowboy collectable items that you are interested in collecting. There have been a lot of buyers remorse and hard feelings when buying a pair of spurs, bits, or saddles that are represented as orginal, or been priced from a book of estimated pricing guides. One good tip is to go by the realized prices of past auctions of respectable shows. All too ofton an authors opinion of a price gets published in a book is wrong. The market is based upon what the availability, and scarcity of the item is. The pricing represented in this web page is an honest pricing of current availability, and what they actually retail for at shows, and auctions. It also helps to review the history that has been printed in Ned & Jody Martins 3 books. Knowing the makers marks and history will help you so much in the long run, and also a very interesting story behind every maker. Collecting is a great way to preserve our history of cowboy culture. Have fun, and please do the research. It will save you a lot of grief, and help you become familiar with your collection. Ron Bliss Bit & Spur Maker

Your prices are really good. And you carry good quality. I'm really impressed and in the future may buy from you. I show horses and am looking for a show package lower than $1,000.00

I am a teacher at Rotella Magnet School, and presently I am gathering information on the "Wild, Wild, West". I will be teaching this program in an after school program in September for 4th & 5th graders. It will be a combination of history, art, culture, and lifestyles of the Wild West. I found many useful ideas on this site.
Editor's Note: That's wonderful news! Please keep us posted on the project, and how the kids responded to learning about the "Wild West."

Hello, I am learning about barrel racing and wanting to learn to train my quarter horse for this. When reading about training for barrel racing, I could tell you were concerned with the horse and general attitude of teaching. I believe it is important to be a partner with your horse and not a boss. Thank you for the information you provided for the horse lovers of the world.

This is a very interesting site, I enjoy the articles. BJ Alderman's "One In Every Family" is a winner. The ending of this story made me howl with laughter. What a tale she weaves. Her "Centennial Cyclone" is also a captivating article. I like her style. Hope she is featured again soon. I am eager to learn why the cats sued the dogs.

Great to see you covering the European westerns, as many of the American actors started careers in these films while other older actors revived their careers for a whole new audience.

I liked the story on Mrs Sheriff. That's a life many do not know. I retired as a Deputy Sheriff here in Utah last year after 25 yrs. I am a member of the Utah Peace officers Association and it's members consist of Sheriff's, Highway Patrolmen and City Police officers. The Mrs Sheriff article would be an interesting story I would like to see reproduced in our magazine which is published quarterly. I would like your permission if at all possible. Sincerely, Sgt. Joe R. Gonzales Davis county Sheriff's Office (retired)
