It has everything I could want, having been a professional horse-trainer from the age of 13! A great site, and thank you for being out there for folks like me. Although I am no longer in the equine business, your content brings back a lot of wonderful memories of my "good ol' days." Few things nowadays are more All-American than cowboy culture.

Tom Selleck has been my favorite actor since Magnum PI days. I love all the characters he's played ... but most of all, I admire the actor for his values and uprightness, especially in these times. Monte Walsh was his best work yet. I suspect there's alot of Tom Selleck in Monte Walsh ... and vice versa.

I like everything I can read about Gunsmoke and the cast. I can't think of any actors that would better fit the characters they portrayed. I watch all of the Gunsmoke reruns and enjoy them now more than ever. I find every episode more suitable to family values than programe now on tv. Best wishes for the continued success of American Western Magazine online.

I've been a fan of the Western Genre since I was 3 years old. My Polish grandmother, bless her soul, introduced me to Rawhide, Gunsmoke, and Have Gun Will Travel nearly 50 years ago. I've seen every Western ever made at least twice, and I love 'em all. You have a great website. Keep up the good work!

Everything just about that would be of interest to a cowboy, or western oriented person can be found here, and that is appreciated by many. New books, CD's, western entertainment news, i.e.the article on Red Steagall and the hall of fame. Thank you for your part in keepin the west alive. I'm a "seasoned citizen", western all my life, but havent't taken the time to really further it until a few years ago, when I became able to slow down and "smell the roses". I recently did a CD of original songs and poems in this effort, and if you have a review section for this sort of thing, I's be happy to send one. Also inquiring about advertising here. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

I was especially interested in the article about Lewis and Clark. I am a consultant to the National Parks Service Corps II and the Army Corps of Engineers as the Corps of Discovery is being reenacted along the entire route from Monticello to the Pacific and back. One of the often overlooked aspects of the Corps is the phenomenal contributions of George Drouillard, who was their primary guide, interpreter, initial contact diplomat, and hunter. George was a Shawnee Indian originally from Ohio. I am an "Olammapise" or Truthteller of the Shawnee, consequently the consulting. I hope there will be subsequent articles about Lewis and Clark along the way.

Having been born and raised in California I like things western although I spent 24 years defending my country as a fighter pilot for the Marine Corps I love the out of doors. I am a fisherman and like stream fishing the best but I will not stop at the shore line on fresh or salt water. I had my own horse (along with my brother) which I broke to ride before I left home, but moving around in the service is not conducive to keeping live stock. At 74 I still love to get out into the hills at every chance I have and fish or just enjoy being there. I like your web site so keep it up.

I FOUND THE [history article about]  "MRS. SHERIFF" VERY INTERESTING. I HAD NEVER KNOWN, ABOUT THESE BRAVE WIVES, WHO HELPED THE SHERIFF AND DEPUTY, KEEP LIFE RUNNING SMOOTHLY FOR EVERYONE, INCLUDING THEIR OWN FAMILIES. AFTER READING THIS STORY BY B. J. ALDERMAN, I HAVE SUCH RESPECT FOR THESE "UNMENTIONED" HEROES, AND THEIR SACRIFICES IN MAKING THE OLD WEST A SAFER PLACE FOR EVERYONE. I HOPE TO SEE MORE ARTICLES ABOUT THE ROLES, AND LIVES OF THESE BRAVE AND HEROIC WOMEN.

It's very different from most of what is seen in the Tenn area, even though we are very interested in horses. After all we have the Tenn walker. Not sure where that horse was in the western days.

By chance skimming through your web site 'cause I needed info on poetry of the West for college class...I found a poem by Red Steagall. Then I read the interview. I thought his poems were "nice" for lack of a better word...and his interview was very interesting.

I just finished reading the article on Diamond Field Jack, thought it was of excellent length. It gave me an idea of who this fellow was and what his conection to the old west was. ...I would like to see more articles of this nature and length.

Actually, I like everything about your online magazine. We have Quarter Horses, my daughter is a Western riding instructor and trains horses. Although we are from the East we love everything Western. I've even gone to Elko, Nevada to a Cowboy Poetry gathering. I consider your site one of my very favorites and feel honored to be a member.

I've always been a big western fan and looking for western magazines in stores are hard to find. So while browsing I found this great web sight to read westerns. And I have seen both Crossfire Trail and Monte Walsh and I think they are the best westerns that Tom Selleck has stareed in. Of course I think that every western he's been in has been great!! And I've also a big Lonesome Dove fan and it's been good to see some of my favorite charaters in these films also. Keep up the Good work Tom!! Darlene

Some very interesting information for an "English Cowboy"  The one on Pearl Of Cripple Creek, particularly, since we were there in August 2002. We are going to Wyoming in Summer 2003 - so I am looking for the history of the "outlaws" of the area.

I stumbled upon this site, and have came back every day since. There are so many things to see and read, people express sincere emotion in the poetry and the artwork and ecards are something else! They say cowboys are a dying breed, could have fooled me! Thanks for offering such a unique experience!
