From Turlock to Willow Glen: Jack Stromgren, DDS, the Dentist Behind an Entrepreneur Dental Plan

Jack Stromgren, DDS, grew up in Turlock and has spent over twenty years in clinical dentistry. His career now includes a dental plan for people who work for themselves.

The plan, called the Jack Stromgren Executive Protection Dental Plan, was announced on Sept. 29, 2026.

A Hospital Start

His DDS came from the dental school at the University of California, San Francisco in 2005.

His next step was his general practice residency, completed at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The training there was hospital-based, and many of his patients had complex medical histories.

That hospital period exposed him to a wide range of clinical conditions. His professional biography credits that period with a manner of care that stays plain, careful and never rushed.

Eight Years of Crowns and Bridges

After that training, Jack Stromgren joined a high-volume group practice in Sunnyvale as an associate dentist. He worked there for eight years.

Crown and bridge cases filled much of that time. The site says the period gave him a substantial base in that restorative work before he owned an office.

Implants came later, offered to patients who have lost teeth and want a lasting replacement. He spent several years in dedicated continuing education on implant treatment before adding it to his regular care, and each implant case starts with an evaluation.

Ownership on Lincoln Avenue

In 2014, Stromgren bought an existing dental practice in Willow Glen. At the time, it served roughly 1,100 patients across four operatories.

The office now operates as Stromgren Family Dentistry. It runs five operatories, and its active patient count has climbed past 3,000, with patients drawn from across Santa Clara County.

Growth also brought an associate dentist in 2022. Routine exams and cleanings for adults and families remain part of the office’s general care, with visits scheduled to leave time for evaluation and discussion.

His clinical focus now spans three areas, listed on what the practice treats. Restorative and implant dentistry anchor the list, joined by sleep apnea appliance therapy and care for adults with severe dental anxiety.

The appliances serve diagnosed patients who find CPAP therapy hard to stick with. For anxious adults, he walks through each step before starting and allows extra time. The site says that approach has made the office a destination for referrals of patients who avoided dentists for years.

The services page lists accurate diagnosis first in the office’s approach, ahead of clear treatment plans and careful chairside work. The release says the plan reflects the clinical experience he built in general dentistry, treating Willow Glen residents and others across the county.

One Dentist at the Head of the Executive Protection Dental Plan

The plan builds on that clinical base through a pillar called The Inner Circle. Periodontists, endodontists and implant specialists make up its network.

Stromgren manages that network and coordinates every referral himself, so members do not work through referrals alone. The release frames the pillar as coordination with suitable specialists.

The plan’s design borrows from executive close protection, with respect for the security field, and his role is modeled on a detail lead. It describes one dentist and one plan with a single point of accountability, in place of an insurance call center.

The plan is aimed at founders, freelancers, consultants and gig-economy executives in San José and Santa Clara County. Its stated purpose is low-cost dental care for those who carry no insurance. Its messaging points out that employer dental coverage tends to be the first benefit to drop away for people who leave a company to work independently.

In the plan’s framing, a dental emergency threatens business continuity for a self-employed professional. Its Rapid Response pillar offers urgent visits on the same or next day, a direct phone line and priority scheduling against a booking window of about 11 weeks.

Advance Work opens membership with a full workup, a risk map and a care calendar for 12 months, and the release says the pillar aims to find needs before they become urgent. Zero Blind Spots, which handles coverage, keeps the plan’s terms published up front so members avoid surprise bills and guessing over denied claims.

The release frames the plan as a model centered on preparation and access. It also states plainly that the framework cannot ensure every dental problem is avoided.

Community Work Alongside the Career

Every November since 2016 he has opened the Lincoln Avenue office one day a year for free treatment, treating 60 to 70 patients and paying the costs himself. He also sits on the governing board of the Willow Glen Free Clinic.

He spent six years running sealant clinics for schoolchildren in the eastern part of San José. Off the clinical calendar, he coaches youth soccer and backs a Little League team as a sponsor.

The release cites that community work when it describes the plan’s emphasis on access. It adds that he has owned and run his own office for over a decade.

The practice site groups that November event with his clinic board role and the school program under community involvement.
